Do I need to sign up to Rtzee to make purchases?

Yes. You will need to create a Purchaser account.

Why should I buy art from Rtzee?

Rtzee provides a link between emerging and established UK artists and art lovers.

We do not vet our artists and encourage a full range of artistic styles, so you have access to a vast array of art from which to choose.

We get that buying art online may sometimes be daunting and risky. To alleviate any concerns you may have, Rtzee offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on all artworks purchased on the Rtzee website. If you wish to return the artwork, within 14 days of receipt, for any reason whatsoever, you will receive a full refund and we will also pay the return freight.

If I buy an artwork, how much is freight?

The cost of freight is included in the artwork List Price, so you will not be charged anything extra.

If I buy an artwork, is it insured?

Will my credit card information be safe?

Yes. The Rtzee website is a secure site.

When I buy an artwork from Rtzee am I guaranteed an original piece?

Rtzee artists sign a legal contract which states that the art is their original work. However, we cannot guarantee that the artist is truthful. In the event that you buy an artwork and it ends up not being an original, Rtzee will provide you with a full refund.

Can I check the status of my order?

You will be provided with the tracking number for your order. It is then easy to go onto the Parcelforce website and check where your artwork is located.

How long will it take to receive my artwork?

We request our artists to lovingly pack up your artwork within 2 working days of the order being processed. It may then take up to 7 days for the artwork to be delivered to you. So, that’s a total of 9 working days.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?

If your artwork arrives damaged, please let us know as soon as possible via the Contact Us page on the website, or email info@rtzee.com and we will sort it our for you.

What if I don't like my purchased artwork?

Rtzee offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you wish to return your artwork, for whatever reason, you can do so if you let us know within 14 days of receiving it. Rtzee will arrange return freight for you at no cost to you. You will be required to pack up the artwork in the original packaging. We will email you postage labels which we would like you to print out and adhere to the parcel ready for collection.

What if my artwork doesn’t look like it did on the website?

Rtzee offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. We understand that colours on computer screens may be slightly different to the original artwork which you receive. If you wish to return your artwork, for whatever reason, you can do so if you let us know within 14 days of receiving it. Rtzee will arrange return freight for you. You will be required to pack up the artwork in the original packaging or similar. We will email you postage labels which we would like you to print out and adhere to the parcel ready for collection.

How do I provide feedback to an artist?

If you wish to provide feedback for an artwork which you have purchased, please email info@rtzee.com. We will pass the information on to your artist.

Will you share my information with marketing bodies?

Rtzee will not share your information with marketing organisations without your prior consent.

Do you ship internationally?

Rtzee services and freights to UK addresses only. Artworks posted, or purchases made from other countries will not be accepted.


Why should I sell my art on Rtzee instead of via a bricks and mortar, or other online galleries?

The Rtzee website makes it as easy for artists to upload their artworks quickly and easily and get them out into the world so buyers can see them.

The Rtzee website takes a low commission of 30%.

Rtzee arranges all freight for you and arranges for, and pays for, the freight on any returns.

Rtzee will NEVER discount your art.

We encourage all styles of art on the Rtzee website and so will not decide which artists can or cannot sell on the site. We do ask you to submit only your best work. We know that people who buy art appreciate all styles of art.

By selling your art on Rtzee you will reach a far wider audience than a traditional bricks and mortar gallery.

Rtzee uses social media strategies to promote its artists including but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We have strong marketing strategies and will support our artists actively with well devised marketing campaigns.

Rtzee has an art blog with useful, informative, art information.

I’m not ready yet. Can I create an account if I haven’t got anything to sell yet?

Yes. You can create your Artist login with profile and biography information ready for when you wish to upload your first artwork.

I am ready to sell artworks on Rtzee, how do I set up an account?

Click on the Sell Your Art button at the top of the rtzee.com website and follow the directions. If you need further assistance, please use the Contact Us form or email info@rtzee.com.

I am new to this, do you have any general advice to get me started?

It is a good idea to find out what price you can expect to receive for your artwork. Check online and look at other artists who have similar work to you and are at the same place in their careers. Do not price your art too high or it may not sell and it is not advisable to reduce prices on your work.

What kind of artworks and content are allowed?

Rtzee only permits original unframed 2D artworks. Rtzee does not allow electronically produced mediums or digitally enhanced artworks or other artworks created and/or modified by computer including photography. Nudes are not accepted on the rtzee.com website at this time.

What do you mean by unframed?

Unframed means that it does not have an additional frame. Rtzee allows stretched canvas and cradle boards.

Do I need to sell my artwork/s exclusively through Rtzee?

No. You are free to sell your artworks anywhere you like. Please let us know if you sell an artwork either via email info@rtzee.com so we can update your gallery.

Do I need to be the creator of the artwork?

Yes. The artist posting an artwork for sale must be the artist who created the artwork and must retain full and sole copyright of the artwork and the artwork must be an original.

Does my artwork have to be original?


Original means a primary and original work, as opposed to any copy, reproduction or imitation. Copies, reproductions, prints and electronically altered works are not considered original. Copyright must belong to the creator of an artwork in order for it to be considered original.

Am I required to sign my artwork/s?

Yes, please.

Who decides the price of my artwork/s?

The artist sets the price of the artworks.

How much commission do you charge?

Rtzee charges 30% commission on the price of the artwork less freight.

How is the List Price of an artwork calculated?

When you upload your artwork for sale, you will be asked to enter a List Price. This is made up of three parts added together:

1) The Artist Price – which you will receive less 30% Rtzee commission

2) Insurance – £500 add £5, £1000 add £10, £1500 add £15, £2000 add £20, £2500 add £25

3) Flat shipping rate of £15

How do you calculate shipping?

A flat rate for shipping of £15 is built into the List Price of the artwork.

What copyright protection do I have on my work?

An artist retains all copyright for physical artworks (which includes reproduction rights) even when the physical property is transferred to the purchaser. If the purchaser wishes to reproduce the artwork, this must be separately negotiated with the artist.

How do I know when an artwork is sold?

Sold artworks will be displayed on the Sold page of the rtzee.com website. You will receive an email to let you know that your artwork has sold.

What’s the best way to package my artwork/s?

We recommend that you wrap your artwork in plain brown paper, then a layer of bubble wrap. Finally, create a box out of ‘fridge or freezer’ cardboard as it is very strong. Use wide brown good quality packing tape. You can find fridge boxes at your local whitegoods store. Finally write ‘FRAGILE’ in large letters on the box, or purchase a roll of FRAGILE tape and use that.

Can I use my own choice of courier?

We’re sorry but Rtzee requires that you only use the Rtzee courier.

How much will I get paid when my artwork sells?

You will be paid 30% of the List Price of the artwork less shipping and insurance.

How long does it take to receive payment?

Payment will be made 28 days after the artwork is accepted by the purchaser.

What happens if a refund is requested for a sold artwork?

The artwork will be returned at no cost to you. The sale will be cancelled.

What about the paperwork? Who provides the invoice?

Rtzee will invoice the purchaser. Rtzee will provide a copy of the invoice to you.

What can I do to improve my sales?

It is important to have good quality images of your artwork which truly reflect what it looks like. Please take time to photograph your artwork in good light. We recommend that you photograph outside in daylight, mid morning or afternoon is good and in a shaded area to avoid glare. Crop the artwork neatly before uploading to the Rtzee website.

Provide a detailed description of your artwork. If you wish you can tell a story about why you created it.

Use keywords which describe your artwork clearly.

Use social media, such as Facebook and Instagram to promote yourself. Upload images of your artworks and share them with your friends.

Can I promote my own social media page or website on Rtzee?


What is Rtzee doing by way of promotion for both the Rtzee website and its artists?

Rtzee is actively promoting on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Rtzee produces a newsletter and also has a public relations campaign. There is a blog on the Rtzee website.
